Church of the Holy Prophet Elijah, Mokra Gora
From 1876 people of Mokra Gora sought to build a church. It is said that they used to bring icon of the Virgin Mary from Kršanje but that she would return to Krsanje herself on the ashes of the former church. Since there already was a church lot, and the presidents of the Mokra Gora municipality had always been from Krsanje, they prevailed and the church was built on the old site. Church in Mokra Gora was built out of growing need after Second World War ended, because church in Krsanje was several hours' walk away from individual houses.
On  April 26th 1945 the foundation of the future church was set in Mokra Gora, and on  August 2nd of the same year, the temple dedicated to the holy prophet Elijah was consecrated and handed over "to the benefit of the people" of the region.
The church was built in the shape of a ship as a copy of church from Krsanje, only it was built from logs, not stone. Temple was built by local craftsmen and residents. When the church was finished one of the bells was moved from the church in Krsanje, and second, a smaller one, was donated by Luka Cukavac from Mokra Gora. See more photos
